"As the founder and content manager for Whisperings: Solo Piano Radio, believe me when I tell you I listen to a lot of solo piano music. In any given year, 40–50 albums are submitted for our broadcast, not to mention dozens of individual single releases. When an album catches my attention, I take note, because in this genre of music (as with most, really), there is a lot of 'sameness.' When I queued up Wreath of Wind by Kristina Welling for my first listen, I perked up and immediately took notice.

Wreath of Wind has a beautiful blend of both neo-classical and contemporary song-like sensibilities. The net result is a collection of textured and interesting compositions that are not only melodically rich but also bear up well to repeated listening. This makes Wreath of Wind one of those rare albums that you can enjoy over and over again without losing interest. Even now, months after my first listen, every time one of Kristina's tracks comes up on the Whisperings radio broadcast, I look over to see what's playing and immediately think, "Ah yes, Kristina's wonderful music!"

In the end, I've added nearly every track from Wreath of Wind to my own personal playlist of solo piano favorites, which means that I not only get to listen to music from this album for work but also 'on repeat' for my own enjoyment.

Kristina Welling is truly a gifted composer. I look forward enthusiastically to hearing more of her work as she releases more material."

“Warm harmonious piano, beautifully crafted, recorded and performed. Kristina‘s classical training allows her to bridge from Neoclassical to New Age with clever touches of jazz that bring her musical story-telling to life.”
